Last night, the BNR Arenas have hosted a memorable doubles exhibition, between four true legends, Ilie Nastase, Mansour Bahrami, Henri Leconte and Mats Wilander.
Thousands of people, tennis fans or not, waited hours to enter at this fabulous match. And they were not disappointed. The first world no.1 in history, "Nasty", teamed up with another former world no.1, the still-young Mats Wilander, who, at the age of 46, was the youngest and the fittest between the four tennis musketeers. On the other side of the court, the doubles experts Bahrami and Leconte played whatever they wanted, creating very spectacular shots in every position.
Of course, there were a lot of fun enertaining moments. Leconte and Bahrami tried to learn Romanian, by imitating the chair umpire, called Nastase "grandpa" all the match and Leconte prooved he could always be the voice of a cartoon character, by making funny voices and laughs.
Romania's big friend, Mansour Bahrami, has already a lot of fans here. He was supported by a group of Iranian fans and by all the people on the BNR Arena, who appreciated his many "magic" numbers.
The score was not important anymore. The scoreboard entered in their funny game, showing more than 40 points played in the tie-break, trying to break Isner and Mahut's record from Wimbledon.
Tonight, another exhibition match at BCR Open, between Henri Leconte and Mats Wilander, a 'replay' of the 1988 French Open final!
