A Diary : WTA players as kids

Hi again! After the cute article with tennis parents and their kids, it's the time for another cute article. Here are some of my favourite tennis players when they were younger.

Amelie Mauresmo, waiting to take a piece of cake on her birthday.

Tatiana Golovin. Adorable as always.

The VIP. The camera has always loved Maria Sharapova.

Everybody knows this kid, now grown-up. One of the biggest names in tennis history, Martina Hingis.

Wasn't she cute? Marion Bartoli, enjoying her winter holiday.

Just a word: ANGELIC. Recently-retired Elena Dementieva, pretty since she was born.

Maria Kirilenko

Fancy. Jelena Jankovic, showing she has always been in fashion.

Dinara Safina hasn't changed too much. She has always been so cute!
*Note: Just take a look at the second picture. So adorable!

Caroline Wozniacki

I'm sure you've recognized this tennis star, even without looking at the second pic. The always-beautiful Ana Ivanovic.

I hope you like them as I do. Who do you think is the cutest? :)

Shocking tennis retirement : Elena Dementieva

I'm sure it has been a shock for most of the tennis fans, when, after the Dementieva-Schiavone match in Doha, the best WTA players of the world stepped on the court and surrounded the Russian star with tears in their eyes. "This year in Doha was very special for me because it was my last tournament," Dementieva told the crowd. The reaction was the expected one. No one could believe the ninth player of the world was leaving the tour, right in this good moment of her career.

"I'd first like to thank Stacey Allaster. We're very lucky to have you as the leader of the tour. You do so much to make our tour better, trying to take women's tennis to a different level. It has been a big honor to be a part of the tour for such a long time. I'd like to thank all the people from the WTA - it was so nice to get to know all of you and work with you for so many years. I'm going to miss you so much. Thanks to all the players for the amazing experiences, all the years I spent on the court with you. And thanks to all the people around the world for supporting me, and my fan club, I could feel your support no matter where I was in the world. Thank you for your devotion.

"Most importantly, thanks to my family, especially my mom. You've been very supportive, encouraging, inspiring... you were always there for me. It was a long way and we did it together. I love you mom.

"It's so emotional. It's hard to say goodbye. I'm going to miss you so much."

"Russia is proud to have you. You've been a great inspiration and role model for kids," Vera Zvonareva said on court. "You've done so much, not just for Russian tennis but for Russian sport. The whole country is proud of you."

"We kind of grew up together. I've been playing with her since the juniors," Kim Clijsters said. "It's nice to see her look forward to something new in her life. She's been one of the most professional, nicest girls on tour.

"It will be rare to see another player like her."

Altough Elena didn't won a Grand Slam title, she had a big career. Here are some of her most important tennis moments.

Dementieva reached her first Grand Slam semi at the 2000 US Open, the first Russian ever to make it that far in New York.

Dementieva won her first Olympic medal at Sydney in 2000, making it to the final and collecting silver.

Dementieva was a fixture among the upper echelon, qualifying for the WTA Championships 10 of 11 years.

Dementieva reached her first Grand Slam final at the French Open in 2004, beating French star Amelie Mauresmo en route. It was the first all-Russian Grand Slam final. Elena was the runner-up to Anastasia Myskina.

Dementieva reached her second Grand Slam final at the 2004 US Open, finishing runner-up to Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Eight years after the silver in Sydney, Dementieva beat Dinara Safina for the Olympic gold medal at Beijing in 2008. Elena considers the Olympic gold medal in Beijing in 2008 her greatest career achievement as a tennis player.

Dementieva made the semis or better at Grand Slams nine times, including the thrilling 2009 Wimbledon semifinal.

Dementieva's 16th and final WTA title came in Paris in February 2010, where she beat Lucie Safarova in the final.

Everything has an ending. After her last match at the WTA Championships - Doha 2010, Elena Dementieva announced her retirement on court.

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR LIFE AFTER TENNIS, LENA!

A Diary : Tennis parents and their kids

Hello, guys! I'm back with a new diary page. I'm here to show you my favourite tennis kids. They are adorable, they are sweet and, most important, they have the best parents.

First one is the youngest baby girl, at the age of only 8 months. She is ALEXIA WAWRINKA!

Next up: Lleyton's kids. The Hewitt family is a cute family. You can see that looking at their children.

MIA REBECCA HEWITT. She will turn 5 on November 29th.

CRUZ LLEYTON HEWITT. The next big name in tennis. :)

Maybe the most adorable photo with the two. MIA and CRUZ seem to get along so great.
And this is not finished for the Hewitts. They are expecting a third baby in December 2010.

She is probably the sweetest little girl ever! JADA CLIJSTERS LYNCH, 2 years old, enjoying a snack, while watching her mommy.

Seriously, how can you not love her? She's a miniatural Kim!

And of course, maybe the most popular tennis kids, the Federer twins! MYLA ROSE and CHARLENE RIVA, 1 year old, on a walk in the park.

I know there aren't lots of active tennis players with babies. That would be too difficult for most of them. So, I've decided to show you some of the cutest children of the big retired players.

Here is JADEN GIL, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi's son.

JADEN, who will turn 9 on October 26th, and his so cool father, Andre.

JAZ ELLE, 6 years old, on a walk with his father. Or, better said, on him.

For me, this is a cool family.

Next, Agassi's big rival, Pete Sampras, with sons CHRISTIAN CHARLES (almost 8) and RYAN NIKOLAOS (5).

And seriously, how could they not be cute, when they have such a beautiful father? :)

So, do you like this guy? He's so sweet! But there is a problem...

...he's 25 now! Basketball player JOAKIM NOAH and his father, Yannick Noah.

I hope you liked my article. Because I'm sure you love these adorable kids! :) Xoxo.

Happy birthday, Marius!

Who doesn't remember that stunning Davis Cup result, when a 18-year-old newcomer, Marius Copil, and his partner Horia Tecau, came back from 0-2 against the more-experienced team Marat Safin and Dmitry Tursunov of Russia, winning in a 5-set thriller? Now, that sweet teenager is not a sweet teenager anymore. OK, excepting the 'sweet' part.

This week, right before turning 20, he made himself a birthday present, at the Italy F30 Futures, playing the singles semifinal, as a qualifier and the doubles final, as a wild-card (partnering with Giuseppe Faraone from Italy).

Marius reached his highest ATP ranking this year, 265 in singles and 260 in doubles, this progress following a nice victory at the Guatemala F1 Futures in singles and doubles (partnering with Ecuadorian Ivan Endara), the Cremona Challenger final and a good victory in the first round of BCR Open Romania in doubles, against another Romanian team, Victor Crivoi/Adrian Ungur.

Here are some things you probably didn't know about him:

1. He trained this autumn with the former world no.1 Mats Wilander.
2. He left tennis for football. After a year, he decided to return at tennis. Good choice!
3. In the Davis Cup doubles match against Russia, he decided to change something in his game when he heard the national anthem, in the third set.
4. Last year, he broke about 15 racquets.

Off the court, he likes to read and to play games, like Football Manager 2010, where he trains his favourite team, Bayern Munchen. He thinks the most beautiful girls are from Romania, Venezuela and Colombia.

Marius Copil, his father and his friend Horia Tecau

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARIUS!!!

A Diary : Hottest ATP stars

Hey hey! I've been a little busy these days and no, I'm not Caroline. But I'm back, in this interesting 10/10/10 day, with my newest -and my favourite- diary page: my Top 5 hottest ATP players. :)

5. Rafael Nadal (ESP) - Of course Rafa is here, in the top. I think he's in everyone's top. He barely has everything. Amazing body, check! Sweet dimples, check! Dreamy eyes and awesome hair, check! Altough in my opinion he looked better with long hair and no-sleeves, he's still right here, between the hottest ATP guys.

4. Fernando Verdasco (ESP) - Spanish guys, Spanish guys... One thing is clear: this country was blessed! Blessed with awesome men! On the court, in the stands or in a Calvin Klein campaign, Nando is a delight for the eyes of thousands of girls all around the world.

3. Roger Federer (SUI) - Maybe Mother Nature was not that generous with his body, but she gave him an undeniable charm. Elegant, stylish and refined Roger will always be one of the most loved tennis players, and -trust me!-, not just for his game.

2. Marius Copil (ROU) - Like I said not long ago, I think I have a crush on him. :) I had the pleasure to meet him and he looks awesome! Blond, suntanned, with splendid blue eyes and charming smile... He's absolutely gorgeous. He could be anytime the dream guy of any girl.

1. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) - I know it's a surprise for most of you, but for me it's pretty normal. When he has long hair, he looks amazing! He always has the big lovely smile on his face, the perfect skin colour and the sexy protective body. A really HOT guy.

Aaand a few another guys I know you love. And I love. :)

Dmitry Tursunov

Dmitry Tursunov & Grigor Dimitrov

Novak Djokovic

Marat Safin

Fernando Verdasco & Feliciano Lopez

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it!
